What is Herbal Medicine?

Herbal medicine is the oldest form of medicine known, and the most widely practised in the world today. It offers a complementary or alternative treatment to conventional medicine.

Herbs for health

According to the World Health Organisation it is estimated that over 80% of the world's population rely on herbs for their health.

Plants can heal us as well as feed us

Just as we rely on plants to nourish and maintain your body as food, so herbal remedies can be used to restore your health. Herbal medicines are preparations from a part of the whole plant : leaves, flowers, berries roots, bark, etc.

Hundreds of natural constituents

They contain hundreds of natural constituents balanced within the plant and made more (or less) powerful by each other as appropriate. The herbs are sustainably and ethically produced wherever possible.

Living plants give a vital force

As the medicines dispensed are made from living plants, so their vital force contributes to their healing ability.

Fresh organic material

All of your medicines will be prepared from fresh, organic material wherever possible. They will be sourced from bio-dynamically grown plants when available.
